South Shore Pedicabs

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN SANDUSKY, OHIO

South Shore Pedicabs was founded in 2022 by Sandusky residents, Kim and Jeff Gill with two pedicabs bought from Main Street Pedicabs in Broomfield, Colorado.

Both Kim and Jeff were born and raised in Sandusky as were several generations before them.  When she is not pedaling around town, Kim is an Application Engineer for an Integrator based out of Nashville for the intralogistics industry.  Jeff is a finish carpenter who owns and operates Jeffrey J Gill Carpentry out of Sandusky.

In the early 2000’s, Sandusky’s downtown was underutilized having only a bank, the theater and a couple of bars.  In the several years since, downtown Sandusky has become the hub of the city with more than 25 bars and restaurants, a boutique hotel, and many condos and apartments.  The restructuring of the Jackson Street Pier and the introduction of D.O.R.A. has brought a new entertainment element to our community that was missing.  City Leaders are catering to major events such as Bike Week, Pride Weekend, and the Ironman race by bringing thousands of people to the area for reasons other than Cedar Point.

South Shore Pedicabs will be there to taxi you about the downtown or just provide a relaxing tour of the area.  Downtown is fun and exciting again, and we want to be part of it!  We look forward to the continued growth of the city as our business grows as well.

How can I get a ride?

When our drivers are without guests they often drive around the downtown area where you might catch a ride by flagging down an available driver. You can also call/text 419-357-4522, and we can send an available driver.

How many passengers can you carry?

Each pedicab can carry 2 adults comfortably, but 3 can squeeze in.

Do you have a weight limit?

We tell our drivers not to take more than 700 pounds, however due to safety and practical considerations 400 to 500 pounds is more realistic. All rides are ultimately at the discretion of the driver who shall determine if they can safely and comfortably deliver their guests to their destination.

Where do your pedicabs come from?

Our vehicles come from Mainstreet Pedicabs which is the largest supplier of US made pedicabs and are used by many companies in the US and elsewhere.

Are pedicabs safe?

Pedicabs are extremely safe, they are equipped with running lights, brake lights and hydraulic brakes.

Are you pet friendly?

Yes, if your pet is not a snake!
